Seamless wave patterns, from sine to Lissajous

The new wave pattern maker draws rows of waves from ten functions: sine, cosine, tangent, square, triangle, sawtooth, damped, interference, moiré and Lissajous figures. Draw them as lines or as filled bands, add a second wave on top, then download a seamless SVG or PNG, or print a PDF at true size.

Why it always repeats

Every setting that could break the join counts in whole waves. A repeat holds a whole number of waves across, a second wave adds a whole number of its own, and drift slips the phase by whole waves from top to bottom, so the right edge meets the left and the bottom meets the top. A tangent runs off to infinity, so each branch is cut where it reaches three times the wave's height.
