Four more Advanced blocks
Pineapple turns its logs 45 degrees with every round. Storm at Sea combines three kinds of unit, each with pieces set on point. New York Beauty sets an arc of seven sharp points around a quarter circle, and Lone Star builds each of its eight points from nine small diamonds.
Stars, curves and pictures
Rising Star sets a small star inside a large one, Card Trick seems to lay four cards over one another, and Spider Web sews eight wedges from strips. For curves and appliqué there are Orange Peel, Grandmother's Fan, Bull's Eye, Tulip, Butterfly, Heart and Tumbling Blocks, and for pictures, Schoolhouse and Sailboat.
Strips, squares and triangles
The rest build on familiar shapes. In strips and squares: Half Log Cabin, Chimneys and Cornerstones, Chinese Coins, Bars, Center Diamond, Roman Stripe, Spools, Attic Windows and Tumbler. In triangles: Economy Block, Snowball, Birds in the Air, Lady of the Lake, Delectable Mountains, Wild Goose Chase, Thousand Pyramids and Zigzag.
Piecing steps now list each size of unit on its own, so a block that mixes large and small units, like Anvil, trims each to its own size.
