AVG Antivirus Review
AVG is a powerful tool that offers a broad range of features, excellent malware protection, and solid performance in countless tests. The free version isn’t as extensive in features, whereas the premium version has more options such as a device optimization tool and VPN.
The malware scanner of the software uses machine learning and heuristic analysis in order to detect and eliminate any potential threats, including trojans rootkits and cryptojackers. It also protects you from attacks by ransomware, phishing and suspicious websites. AVG’s smart scanners are swift and complete. They highlight a variety of “advanced problems” which you can resolve immediately, including items that require password protection, a vulnerable firewall, or a camera that isn’t protected. It’s more aggressive than other high-quality antivirus scanners in this area, and it will prompt you to buy its paid flavor by clicking on any of these issues.
Its tests by AV-Test are generally top-quality and it was able to detect and protected itself against 100% of the malware in March and April 2022 tests. However, its ability to detect 0-day attacks is not as good as the other top-rated products I’ve tested and it sometimes slows down the system.
The free version offers email and web security Identity theft monitoring for passwords that were leaked and photo vault features. Additionally, the free AVG Cleaner utility helps speed up devices by eliminating junk files. The premium version offers webcam security and ransomware protection as well as secure banking and firewall. It also comes with performance tuning feature that can speed up your computer and increases battery life, and an VPN to ensure your privacy online.
