How to Configure a Network Proxy in Windows 10

i thought about this

A network proxy acts as an intermediary between the local network (such as all devices within the company or in a building) and the internet. It can provide an additional layer of security, privacy and enhance performance when connected to Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

You can set up proxy settings on Windows 10 either manually or using the Settings app. If you’re using the Settings app, you can select Proxy under Network & Internet. If the Use a proxy server switch is disabled, then skip this step. If not, you will be required to turn on the switch. Fill in the details of your proxy server and port.

You might be asked by an IT administrator to use the Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Protocol script (WPAD) in the event that you use a Proxy in a work or school environment. This method is more reliable than a manual configuration.

You should also turn off any third-party software that could interfere with or alter your network settings. This includes antivirus, VPN, and firewall programs. This is particularly helpful if the error message you are getting says “Windows did not detect automatically the proxy settings for this particular network.”

If all else fails, you can attempt a reset of the system. This will erase all drivers and programs that have been installed since the restore point was created which will allow your system to install default settings. We hope this will solve the issue and allow you to reconnect to the internet, without the error message appearing.
